This blog post I am sharing is an analysis I carried out to compare various App Exchange Tools available for tracking changes of metadata in your Salesforce  organization. All of these tools come free of cost 🙂

3) Nothing to configure. 100% Native Application.		 This app converts object and field configuration detail into custom object records. Once configuration are stored in table, you can use Salesforce user interface to list, report, search object configuration.
1) See your org object schema through your favourite salesforce interface such as list, detail, report, and so on
2) Search object name or object lable through salesforce search box
3) Download metadata as xsl or csv file via salesforce report		 1) This tool is very useful to extract the metadata from Salesforce Org in excel format.

2) It gives the snapshot of the organisation. Does not capture the metadata changes in the organisation.
3) Enterprise, Unlimited, Force.com, Developer, Performance		 1) It supports standard and custom object but it is free till 5 objects. If we need to use it for more than 5 objects, the application is paid.
